ENVO Drive Systems took part in a day filled with bold ideas, forward-thinking research, and impactful conversations at the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering (SEE) Graduate Student Research Conference, hosted by the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University.

The annual event brought together students, faculty, and industry leaders to explore the latest innovations and challenges shaping the future of clean energy, battery technology, and sustainable engineering.

Leading with Insight and Innovation

Our CEO, Ali Kazemkhani, was invited to join a panel discussion where he shared insights into electric mobility, energy storage, and the future of clean tech innovation. Drawing on ENVO’s experience as a Canadian pioneer in micro-electric mobility, Ali spoke about the real-world applications of sustainable engineering—how design, scalability, and user-centered thinking can bridge the gap between academic research and industry impact.

The panel sparked dynamic discussions on how companies like ENVO are working to rightsize mobility, reduce emissions, and develop technologies that empower cities, industries, and individuals to move smarter and cleaner.

Empowering the Next Generation

One of the most inspiring aspects of the day was engaging with SFU’s graduate students—young engineers and researchers passionate about creating meaningful change. From battery optimization to clean transportation systems, the student presentations showcased just how much potential lies in the next wave of innovators.

As a company rooted in engineering and sustainability, ENVO was proud to support this platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

A Shared Commitment to a Greener Future

At ENVO, we believe progress happens when academia and industry work together to turn ideas into impact. Events like the SEE Graduate Student Research Conference are essential for aligning research with real-world needs—and for building a more sustainable, resilient future.

We’re grateful to Simon Fraser University for the opportunity to be part of this inspiring day—and we look forward to future collaborations that push the boundaries of what’s possible in clean mobility.
