The method of calculating carbon saving for an ebike is not an exact science. But we at ENVO take a scientific approach in estimate the positive impact of our products on the plant earth. According to “Cycle more often 2 cool down the plant”, a report by European Cyclists’ federation a car emits 271 grams of CO2 per passenger per kilometer considering both production and operation phases. An electric bicycle on the contrast only contributes 22 grams of CO2 per passenger per kilometer considering both production and operation phases. And as an ebikes mostly replaces car usage it is safe to assume that for each kilometer travel a passenger approximately saves 249 grams of carbon from being emitting into the atmosphere.

A study by Transport Research Laboratory at University College London found a sample of consumers, after getting their ebikes, travelled an average of 15-20 miles (24-32km) each week, with most of this travel being commuting . Using this information we can use the following formula to estimate the weekly carbon saving from using ENVO Drive EBikes.
