ENVO U50

Built for What You Actually Carry

Kids. Groceries. A delivery run. Your tools. The dog. The U50 doesn't specialise, it adapts. A modular accessory platform, 180 kg payload, and a 720 Wh battery mean you can configure it for any task and go all day without stopping to recharge.

High Load Capacity

The U50 is built to carry the whole family. With a robust 180 kg (400 lbs) payload capacity and a wide, stable platform, it handles children, groceries, and everyday cargo without breaking a sweat. The low center of gravity and wide fat tires keep everything stable under load.

All-Day Range, Ready When You Are

The U50 carries a 48V 15Ah LG lithium battery (720 Wh). At PAS 1 (eco assist) you get up to 100 km. At everyday PAS 2–3 expect around 70 km. Throttle-only delivers approximately 50 km. Add the optional second battery and every number doubles, up to 200 km on a single ride. Most Canadian daily trips are under 20 km. The U50 covers a full week without plugging in.

Accessory Ready

The U50 is designed from the ground up as a family accessory platform. Every U50 ships with a rear carrier; footrests for little passengers are an optional add-on. Add the optional front basket for groceries, rear cushion pads for child comfort, child safety rails for extra security, and the passenger spoke guard to keep little feet clear of the rear wheel. Whether you are doing the school run or heading to the park, the U50 adapts to your family's needs.

Mullet Wheel Design

The mullet wheel configuration combines a larger front wheel with a smaller rear wheel to deliver the best of both worlds. The larger front wheel rolls over obstacles with greater confidence and stability, while the smaller rear wheel enhances agility, responsiveness, and overall control. The result is a ride that feels balanced, predictable, and comfortable across city streets, gravel paths, and light off-road terrain.

ENVO U50 Features

REAR & BRAKE LIGHT

An integrated brake light increases rear visibility when slowing down, while a compact reflector adds extra visibility in low-light conditions.

STABLE FRAME GEOMETRY

Engineered with stability at its core, the frame delivers a balanced, confidence-inspiring ride. The mullet wheel setup, featuring a larger front wheel and a smaller rear wheel, adds responsive handling, improved control, and easy maneuverability across a variety of terrain.

FRONT LIGHT

The U50 has a high-efficiency LED headlight and taillight for safety in the dark, powered by the main battery and controlled by a keypad on the handlebar.

HYDAULIC BRAKE

Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes deliver strong, consistent stopping power with smooth modulation and confident control in all riding conditions.

MOTOR

ENVO U50's advanced motor system is 50% lighter yet provides 50% more torque and 25% greater battery efficiency than other motors in Canada. Designed for endurance, it offers over 20,000 km of maintenance-free riding.

LOCKABLE FORK

Adjustable, lockable fork with 80mm travel adds to high-speed stability and handling on trails and asphalt. It reduces the shocks to the frame and battery system and provides ultimate comfort.

TORQUE SENSOR

Enjoy next-level ride performance with advanced Torque Sensor technology, providing natural, intuitive power delivery.

BATTERY PACK

The ENVO Battery for the U50 is built with LG Li-Ion cells for optimal performance in freezing temperatures. It has an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) for consistent performance and extended life. The BMS protects against overcharging and other faults.

SAFETY FIRST - UL2849

U50 is certified for UL 2849 which makes it one of the most safe bikes on the market. We use premium components, including LG/Panasonic Li-ion cells. Our bikes are subject to rigorous Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes ensure a defect-free product.

What is Mullet? The larger 24” front wheel rolls over obstacles, tracks straight under heavy loads, and improves stability at speed. The smaller 20” rear lowers the centre of gravity, reduces overall weight, and keeps the bike agile through tight turns. Stability where you need it. Lightness and agility where it counts. No competitor at this price point uses this configuration. The only other mullet in this comparison costs more than twice as much.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Can I carry children on the U50?

Yes! The U50 is designed specifically for family use. The rear carrier supports child seats and the rear cushion (available separately) accommodates a child passenger. Add the child safety rails and footrests for extra safety and comfort.

What accessories are compatible with the U50?

Every U50 comes with a rear carrier included. Optional accessories include footrests, a front basket, rear cushion pads for child passengers, child safety rails, and a passenger spoke guard that keeps feet and clothing clear of the rear wheel. The modular system lets you configure the bike for your exact family needs.

What is the range of the U50?

On a single 720 Wh battery, the U50 delivers up to 100 km of range depending on terrain, rider weight, and assist level. With the optional dual battery setup you can extend this to approximately 200 km per charge.

Is the U50 good for hills?

Absolutely. The U50's torque sensor and 500W rear hub motor deliver up to 80 Nm of torque for strong hill-climbing performance even under full load with children or cargo on board.

What is the weight limit of the U50?

The U50 has a total payload capacity of 180 kg / 400 lbs, including the rider and any passengers or cargo.

Is the U50's 750W motor legal in Canada?

Yes, completely. The U50 uses a 750W motor that is regulated to 500W continuous output to comply with Transport Canada's Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) standard. It assists up to 32 km/h and has fully operational pedals. Under this standard, no license, registration, or insurance is required in most provinces. Riders must be 16+ in BC and Ontario; a helmet is required in all provinces. The 750W physical motor simply means the U50 has more torque headroom than a bike built around a 500W motor, it runs cooler and lasts longer under load.

Will the U50 handle hills? I live in Vancouver / Victoria / Calgary.

Yes. The U50's 750W peak motor combined with a torque sensor is specifically suited to loaded hill climbing. Most cargo bikes that 'struggle on hills' use underpowered 250W cadence-sensor motors that provide fixed, jerky assist. The U50's torque sensor reads how hard you pedal and amplifies your effort proportionally, giving you strong, smooth assist on grades up to 10–12% even with passengers or cargo on board. Drop to PAS 4–5 for steeper climbs.

Can I ride the U50 in winter?

Yes. The U50 rides safely down to approximately −15°C. The key tip for Canadian winter riding: remove the battery and store it indoors overnight, then install it just before you ride. Cold-stored lithium batteries lose 30–50% of their capacity; a room-temperature battery restores full range. Below 5°C expect roughly 15–25% range reduction; at −10°C plan for 30–40% less. The 3.0” fat tires provide good traction on packed snow, and the hydraulic disc brakes maintain stopping power in wet and slushy conditions. Clean the chain and drivetrain regularly through the salt season.

Will the U50 fit in my apartment elevator or bike storage room?

The U50 is a longtail cargo bike, meaning it has a longer rear platform than a standard ebike but a much smaller footprint than a box-style front-loader. Overall dimensions: approximately 185 cm long × 75 cm wide × 115 cm tall (73” × 30” × 45”). Most standard Canadian apartment elevators (typically 140 cm × 210 cm interior) can fit the U50 diagonally. The handlebars can be rotated parallel to the frame to reduce width for tight spaces. Weight is approximately 32 kg / 70 lbs unladen.
