I’ve done the conversion to a Specialized Rockhopper and a Kona mountain bike. I found the install straightforward. The first time through I followed the install download off the website. The second time I just installed the kit. For those doing a conversion for the first time you will need a casette tool to undo the casette on your donor wheel and to tighten the casette on the motor driven rear wheel. I mention this because the solid axle on the motor driven rear wheel has cable protruding to power the motor. This cable has to fit through the casette tool. For fitment of the brake switches and magnets I filed the attach surface flat for better adhesion. Many mountain bikes have the rear disk brake mounted above the frame member. The rack as supplied is the same vertical length left and right. I cut 2” off the bottom of the left side and rewelded to clear the brake caliper. The rack fits much better now.
I live in a hilly area. The e-bike conversion is fun and works well. I’d recommend it to anyone interested.
