BATTERY PACK

The ENVO Battery powering the Flex Overland is a lizard styled, super lightweight, down tube mounting Li-Ion pack in a stylish thin ABS case with an auto-connect socket, a charge indicator, security lock. The battery is removable and can reach a range of up to 200 km per charge on pedal assist level 1. The battery can be charged on or off the bike frame using the little portable CC-CV smart Li-Ion battery charger. The ENVO Battery is an A-grade branded Li-Ion battery, comprising of LG or Panasonic Li-Ion cells and a BMS that avoids battery from overcharging, overloading, and other hazardous activities, thereby increasing both cyclic and calendar life of the battery. Battery cells have been selected for best operating in freezing temperatures.

E-ASSIST SYSTEM

The ENVO Flex is equipped with an advanced pedal-assist sensor with an optimized torque emulation software. The advanced torque emulating Pedal Assist Sensor (PAS) signals the controller to run the motor between 5 levels of pedal assist, providing a boost to your pedaling depending on the level of assistance you select while riding. The ENVO Flex is equipped with an on-demand thumb throttle that gives you an extra boost which activates the motor proportionally to the twist, does not matter if you are pedaling, to give you a fully electric ride in case you cannot pedal or need an instant acceleration or uphill push.

GEARED MOTOR HUB

ENVO FLEX Overland is equipped with a sealed, powerful, upkeep free, geared hub motor that offers 500W power and 80Nm torque. Our motors are designed efficiently and hence are lighter than most powered geared hub motors in Canada, yet they deliver high torque and efficiency. These ENVO motors are developed for over 20,000 Km maintenance-free ride.

ADJUSTABLE STEM

The FLEX Overland comes with an adjustable high rise handlebar, this lets the rider do the ergonomic fine tuning allowing them to choose efficient pedaling position.

TIRES

Flex Overland comes with 20inch off-road style fat tires. These fat tires are cushion enough to improve ride comfort, dynamic maneuverability, and handling in different terrains. Tires are fat and knobby enough for the best grip on wet cement, asphalt paved, dirt or gravel trails which creates minimum noise and drag for normal urban paved rides.

HYDRAULIC DISK BRAKE

Top of the line hydraulic disk brakes equipped with electric cut-off sensors provide more safety to the bike as well as the rider.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

Well-engineered 52T chain ring and 6 speed 11-32 teeth cassette transmission help you overcome up to 25% grade when climbing a hill on gear 1 or 40km/h speed on gear 6 with gentle peddling.

FORK

Adjustable pre-load, lockable suspension fork with 80mm of travel adds to high-speed stability and handling on trails and asphalt. It reduces the shocks to the frame and battery system and provides ultimate comfort.

REAR RACK

ENVO Flex comes with a specially designed cargo rear rack with rating of 150 lbs weight and capable of fitting two child seats. The rear rack comes with a cushion allowing a second adult to ride on the e-bike.

ENVO overland flex from ebikebc

I ordered a ENVO overland flex as I was looking for a e-cargo bike that could handle the road and the abandoned rail line near my house. I specifically ordered the demo model because if it’s already been ridden a bit, there’s less chance of any problems. I ordered on March 25 and got the box on april 6.
On opening the box, there were no pedals, rear seat pegs or charger included. I also found that the front brake line was not long enough to install the handle bars. Yes, I watched the instruction video. There is no way this bike could have been a demo model or this error would have been caught. I wrote to the ebikebc support explaining the issues but was told that I must have assembled it wrong and that the pedals etc were in a smaller box. I tried to explain this was not the case but got no reply. I’m not sure what’s up with this, does the support system not allow for a conversation?
Anyhow, then I called ebikebc and convinced them that there was no smaller box for pedals etc, they said they would send that to me right away. I also told them about the front brake, and they said they’d have a technician call me but that the technicians were “very busy”. That may well be true if all the bikes have this issue! But now 2 weeks later I have not received a call., though I did get the box of pedals.
The envo advertising is also a little confusing, it says that the bike has 2 power levels, 500 watts for road and 1000 watts for offroad. They say it’s designed for 1000 watts and 50kph but that they restrict it to 32kph and 500 watts to keep it street legal. So I wrote to see how to unlock the full power for offroad, and was told that can old be done by a dealer! I’m in rural NS, so bringing it to a dealer is not going to happen. The representative from ENVO also said that even unlocked it can’t go past 32 kph because of the motor gearing, but he did check the serial number for me and this bike is already at 1000 watts. So I lucked out there, a 32 max isn’t the end of the world for me, but other buyers should be forewarned.
At this point, I said I’ve had enough I just want to return the bike. No response. That was a week ago. So probably I’m stuck with it. I’m a decent bike mechanic so I grabbed a spare hydraulic brake I had in my bin and installed it on the overland flex so I could test it out. It’s actually pretty good! Nice ride on pavement when the shocks are locked out, good off road with the shocks enabled. Torque sensor works nice although there is a bit of a lag. I carried 2 kids (7-8 years old) on the back no problem. Even with the 20” tires it’s not too twitchy at 32 kph. Battery life is decent for me (generally 30km of less at a time)
But I can’t possibly recommend it or buying anything from ebikebc.

I've tried a few different electric bikes, but the Flex Overland is definitely my favorite. The ride is smooth and comfortable, and the power is unbeatable. I also love that the battery is easily removable for charging, making it convenient for me to take care of.

I test rode quite a few ebikes in vancouver area before making this purchase. Overland was by far the most smooth ebike I rode. its hard to explain this. but you need to ride this ebike to know what i am taking about. 5/5.

I was hesitant about investing in an electric bike, but I'm so glad I did. The Flex Overland has made cycling so much more enjoyable for me. It's incredibly powerful, yet still reasonably weighted and easy to maneuver. Plus, the sleek design is definitely a plus!
